The Good Samaritan Energy Trust Fund, which was established by
law in 2003, allows for Illinois residents to voluntarily contribute
money to help pay for emergency heating bills. Contributions will
go directly to low-income residents of the county from which funds
were donated and are tax deductible.
The Good Samaritan Energy Trust Fund is
now capable of accepting online contributions using the Illinois
E-Pay system. E-Pay is a self-service
electronic payment program allowing contributions to be made at
the user's convenience. The Illinois E-Pay system
accepts Visa, MasterCard and E-Checks. The donor will not incur
any additional charge for making payments on the site.
Visit the Illinois State Treasurer's Office for the E-Pay
Web site.
